So he's a 21 year old kid that just hit almost .300 in AAA.. I can live with that.
He hit a BABIP inflated empty 300 in AA as a 21 year old. He's got a MLB future, but a very limited ceiling unless he develops some power or at least a little bit more selectivity at the plate.
I don't think many of us see him as being much more than a backup that could possibly handle the bat well enough to where you don't want to slit your wrists when he's in the lineup.

That was sort my point. I think that's likely what he is and he does you more good doing that than he does playing everyday in AAA.
If he does become a hitter....Great...You've got yourself another Tony Phillips with a better glove.

I can live with that. But, he's also on 21. He could develop a little more patience perhaps and turn himself into a viable starting option somewhere down the road. I probably don't see that..but, the possibility is there.

A player's career BABIP is a better measure to judge the player than to judge the player against league average BABIP.
Derek Jeter has made a career out of a .354 BABIP. Not saying Leury is Derek Jeter.
