So, what are you going to do with Porcello? Because he might be better than Buckel..well, so what? You still have to have a place to put him. Is he the 5th starter until Lewis comes back and then he turns into a long man?

..or maybe Lewis comes back as the long man? Lewis is only under contract for 2013....there's a lot to be said for acquiring another experienced young arm (with upside) that's under team control for 3 more years. I really like Lewis and hope he regains his touch, but he's far from a guarantee to be the pre-injury caliber of pitcher he was.
Upon acquiring Greg Goosen on waivers from the Dodgers, Mets Manager, Casey Stengel introduced him with "This is Greg Goosen. He's 19 years old, and in 10 years he's got a chance to be 29 ".

I don't think I'd be surprised if Ogando struggled out of the gate. Just a hunch I'm having that I don't really like. Maybe teams lock on more to the fastball/slider changeupless combo that he features, maybe his early spring training command woes carry over for some reason, not sure.
Of course maybe he's worked hard on his change and it's an average offering that he feels confident throwing and he dominates. Gonna be interesting

I'd trade for Porcello in a New York minute. Young, cheap, extreme groundball pitcher? I'm all over that. His numbers would look a lot better if he had Beltre and Andrus backing him up.
He might be worth Olt. Though with Cabrera, Fielder, and V-Mart, I'm not sure a 1B/3B is what Detroit is looking for.

My guess is that Detroit is looking for middle infielders. We have a few of those.
