I wish this FO had the balls to do something wild, like having the big fat bia he banged throw out the 1st pitch then when he up play I'm a loser baby, the Sherlock Holmes theme and Mr Makey from Southpark saying Drugs are bad mmmmkay
And the Rangers, well, they dominate the Astros year in and year out. If Rick Perry really does lead a secession effort, can we put Dallas and Houston into different states so we don't have to keep calling them Daddy?
Balls is one thing, class is another. This is a man fighting an addiction.
The "These Kids Are Alright" when Aroid comes up is different. It was based on something Aroid said. If there was something we could use regarding Josh's idiot statment regarding unknowledgeable baseball fans, I could see that.

I've seen a lot of reformed addicts over the years who aren't total donkeys. That's no excuse.

I might have missed something earlier in the thread, but how is Josh knocking the bottom out of some bar slut some part of an addiction? Please understand I am not of the ilk that thinks anyone who leaves town should be struck from the annuals of good for all mankind, but I also am not in the camp that can excuse anything anyone (happens to be Josh here) does due to them having an addiction. Shouldn't any person be held accountable?
And no I am not supporting Big Anthony's idea in any way - just commenting on your comment.
I am making an assumption that the reason for the straying was succumbing to the addiction.
And to suggest one wishes the FO had the balls to do something classless is ridiculous. It would not require balls, it would require no class at all.
His bad decisions most likely climaxed (no pun intended) after his addiciton took over (drinking, or whatever), but he still should be held accountable for those actions. I had a gambling problem, minor addicition, earlier in my life. I got into holes more than once that I needed help getting out of. It was an addiction, yes, but the debts I accumulated were mine to pay. I never expected anything else. I just don't think it is right to wash someone of responsibility due them arriving at a place via addiction. Bottom line you row in the boat you built.
I agree with your overall premise that it probably wouldn't be the best idea to roll ole Marge from Sherlocks out to the hill for a first pitch, but I would also giggle at it quite a bit if they did it.
But his addiction is a disease. He should be excused because it's a disease I tell you. It's no different from having HIV at birth from your infected mother.

I think you are saying this tongue in cheek, but using your scenario should it then be excused if you have unprotected intercourse?

....alcoholism is a disease also....but isn't an excuse from getting behind the wheel and driving while drinking. If you have a drinking problem, we expect (and demand) that you exercise good judgment in avoiding situations where you might be tempted to drive while intoxicated. What is (and should) be expected of Josh is no different....if you don't want to get shot, stay off of the battlefield.
Upon acquiring Greg Goosen on waivers from the Dodgers, Mets Manager, Casey Stengel introduced him with "This is Greg Goosen. He's 19 years old, and in 10 years he's got a chance to be 29 ".
